HR/VP-designate: hearing of Josep Borrell on Monday at 14:30

The Committee on Foreign Affairs will examine the suitability of the proposed new EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security / Commission Vice-President-designate on Monday.

Members of the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee will evaluate Mr Borrell´s competence and suitability for the position and his capacity to deliver on the challenges in the fields of foreign and security policy.

The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Policy and Security / Commission Vice-President-designate will start the hearing by making a 15-minute introductory statement, which will be followed by 25 one-minute questions from MEPs. The Commissioner-designate can use three minutes to respond to each question and MEPs may ask one follow-up question.

The hearing is expected to last for up to three hours. It will be open to media, webstreamed and accessible for camera crews and photographers.
