Quotes

Ahead of the conference, David McAllister (EPP, Germany), Co-Chair of the Parliament’s Democracy Support and Election Coordination Group, said: “In the last ten years, the European Parliament has become a pioneer in advocating and supporting democratic change. Democratic institutions need reinforcement. They belong to our critical infrastructure, just as much as gas pipelines or wind farms.”

Tomas Tobé (EPP, Sweden), Co-Chair of Parliament’s Democracy Support and Election Coordination Group, added: “The European Parliament’s commitment to democracy extends well beyond our own union. Promoting human rights, stability and good governance are aligned with the EU’s strategic interests and values. Therefore, the tenth anniversary is a true milestone.”
