Foreign Affairs Committee MEPs to meet the President of Montenegro

Two months after taking office, President Milatović will meet with MEPs to discuss his priorities and plans for Montenegro’s path towards EU accession.

On Tuesday, members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs will hold a debate with President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović.

When: Tuesday, 18 July, from 10.00 to 11.00.

Where: European Parliament in Brussels, ANTALL (2Q2) and remotely.

Background

The discussion takes place two months after President Milatović took office following presidential elections in March and April 2023. Political tensions and polarisation plunged Montenegro into a deep political and institutional crisis in 2022, stalling Montenegro’s EU accession progress.
