Peace in the Middle East: debate with Palestinian PM Mohammad Shtayyeh

Foreign Affairs Committee MEPs will hold a debate with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh on Monday afternoon, 12 October, at 14:30 CET.

Mr Shtayyeh has served as Prime Minister of the State of Palestine since April 2019 and is a member of the political party Fatah. He will connect remotely from Ramallah to the upcoming meeting.

Up for discussion will be, among other topics, the state of play regarding the Middle East Peace Process and the recent announcement that elections may be held in Palestine in the next six months. President Mahmoud Abbas’ request for an international peace conference during the UN General Assembly will also likely be discussed.
