IBNA: MEP McAllister urges Pristina and Belgrade to implement all their agreements

Every agreement reached between Kosovo and Serbia in Brussels needs to be implemented. This is the message of the rapporteur for Serbia in the European Parliament, David McAllister while reporting in front of members of the Committee for Foreign Policy at the European Parliament.

“Both Kosovo and Serbia should work together in order to implement the agreements that they’ve reached. The setting up of the Association of Serb Municipalities is a priority and the issue concerning energy between the two sides must also be addressed”, McAllister said.

McAllister also said that he’s optimistic that Serbia is on the right path for accession in the European Union, but he also stressed that this also depends on the implementation of reforms and the conditions imposed by the European Union.

“EU accession depends on the full implementation of the necessary reforms. I truly hope that Serbia will continue in its path in the months to come”, he said.

One of the conditions that McAllister mentioned was also the fight against crime and corruption.
